DeeDee created this for her musically talented son. I gave advice on how to light it properly, but this entire project is hers, and all custom. Turned out amazing! In DeeDee's Words - Step 4. Make and cut your pattern and do your glass work. I used opaque glass like you would with any lamp. I didn’t want to see the bulbs. Of course you can do it either way.

DeeDee created this for her musically talented son. I gave advice on how to light it properly, but this entire project is hers, and all custom. Turned out amazing! In DeeDee's Words - Step 5. After your glasswork is finished and the “U” came is on, you are ready to start putting it together. I spray painted the inside of the guitar white for extra brightness. The extra length of non lighted cord was secured to the support bars on the back wall of the guitar. I used some small plastic phone wiring clips I found in the electrical dept. at a home improvement store. They are used to secure wiring and come with nails already in them. We removed the nails and used screws instead so that nothing would ever work loose. There may be other things in the hardware dept that would be better. However I recommend sticking with white or clear things so nothing will show through. Be sure to secure them to the supports bars so that the screws don't come through the body of the guitar. I drilled a small through the bottom just behind the guitars strap holder. The hole is just big enough to pull a regular sized extension cord through. However you can’t get the pronged end through a hole that size, so, I cut a white extension cord and a brown one, threaded the brown one through the hole and wired it back to the white one to create a brown and white cord. The white end is inside the guitar and the brown one is outside. The brown ties in better with the body color of the guitar and is less distracting.
